Winters are wonderful for some, but they can be difficult for others. Summers and winters have a totally different effect on our skin, hair, and overall health in general; which is quite apparent in the way we feel during these seasons.  Here are a few tips for staying healthy and glowing this winter.

Skin: Winter’s intensity makes the skin feel dry, tense, and worn out, resulting in premature ageing. Not only that, but it can also aggravate other skin diseases like acne, eczema, and psoriasis much more. To keep your skin healthy and glowing here are a few simple tips:

  1. Shower in lukewarm water
  2. Moisture on damp skin to lock moisture
  3. Use sunscreen every day
  4. Exfoliate twice a week
  5. Overnight routines/treatments

Hair: Your hair often dries out in the winter, resulting in a dry grass texture. That isn’t the end of it, though. Dandruff, hair fall, and an itchy scalp wreak further havoc upon this. Here is what you can do to ensure your hair is shining & healthy:

  1. Warm oil hair massages
  2. Shampoo less; more conditioner
  3. No styling (Not even blow-drying)
  4. Home remedies to moisturize hair

Common Health issues: People become ill as the seasons change because the temperature shifts, allowing viruses to develop and spread disease. Cold, flu, pneumonia, and throat infections are just a few of the frequent medical issues that can attack unexpectedly during this season and leave you feeling sluggish and sleepy. Follow these measures to keep yourself safe from cold weather diseases

  1. Wash your hands frequently
  2. Eat seasonal vegetables and fruits
  3. Add vitamin D to your diet
  4. Exercise regularly and Practice meditation

Remember to keep your health your priority! Sleep well, eat right, get some sunlight, and most importantly, drink plenty of water. Connect with your doctor in case you are feeling unwell. Don’t ignore your health!
