Third Death from New Coronavirus Strain Reported in China

Beijing, January 20-China has confirmed third death in the country from the new coronavirus strain that has gripped large regions of the country including Beijing.

Also, 140 new cases has been reported by China from the mysterious SARS-like virus. This has caused huge panic among the people who were going to begin their trips in the new Lunar Year.

This comes after the discovery of 136 new cases on the weekend in the central city of Wuhan, where the coronavirus was first discovered.

Among the new people who have been affected, three are from Guangdong. Among them, one person is a 66-year-old Shenzhen man who was quarantined on January 11, according an NDTV report.

According to a statement released by provincial health commission, he had complained of contracting a fever along with other symptoms after visiting relatives in Wuhan following a trip to visit relatives in Wuhan.

Two more people were, who travelled to Wuhan, were treated for pnemonia which was linked to virus. Their condition is reported stable by health officers in Beijing’s Daxing.

Health authorities in Beijing’s Daxing district said two people who had travelled to Wuhan were treated for pneumonia linked to the virus and are in stable condition.

So far, 201 people have now been diagnosed with the virus in China, while 170 people are being treated in Wuhan, out of which nine are feared to be in a critical condition.

According to Chinese authorities, there could be a huge connection between the new coronavirus strain and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome.
