In a time when most of us spend a lot of time using electronics in our homes and offices, we not only walk less often, but we also lack the desire to walk at all. StepSetGo, a fitness app, introduces fitness challenges and offers incentives should you accomplish the target within a set amount of time. These challenges are meant to help you get back on track and enhance your quality of life. The question is, are you ready to take up the challenge to improve your health?

StepSetGo is the brainchild of Shivjeet Ghatge, Misaal Turakhia, and Abhay Pai, who through an underutilised gym membership and the eagerness to be entrepreneurs, birthed an App to inspire people to stay fit, and not give up within a few months. For this, they’ve incorporated a slew of fun elements in StepSetGo to keep exercising pleasant, while also keeping it challenging enough to motivate people to meet their fitness objectives.

In the past few years, I noticed a shift in people’s mindset about health and fitness. People started paying more attention to their diet and workouts but sometimes would lose motivation along the way. By gamifying fitness with StepSetGo, we not only want to inspire people to be better every day but also want to educate them and increase awareness about the importance of physical activity. Moving forward, we are working towards making StepSetGo a one-stop hub for everything health and fitness related. We already offer health insurance, fitness gear, healthy supplements (through our in-app bazaar) and a lot more on top of our walking/running/cycling feature. And with other exciting features on the way, StepSetGo will have everything a beginner or enthusiast would need on their fitness journey!,” says Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan.

This bootstrapped startup that began operations in January 2019, is a platform that keeps track of how many steps a user takes in a day and pays them with coins that can be redeemed in their bazaar section. StepSetGo quickly gained traction because of its unique value proposition, and now has a 4.5 rating on the Play store and 4.8 on the App store. StepSetGo has added to its list of accomplishments by winning the AatmaNirbhar Bharat Innovation Challenge in the health and fitness category, which was organised by the Indian government.

Q1. There are so many fitness apps now. What helps StepSetGo to be better than others?

StepSetGo stands out as it lowers the barrier to entry as all you need is a smartphone to access the App and reap its benefits. This one-of-its-kind App rewards fitness activity and has more social and gamification hooks compared to any other app. In addition to that StepSetGo also customises challenging expeditions depending on your fitness level.

Q2. Staying fit is one of the biggest challenges these days. How SSG can help?

You may start tracking your most fundamental fitness activity – walking – with StepSetGo. The App’s extensive gamification and socialisation urge users to compete with one another, which helps them keep to their fitness objectives. StepSetGo monitors users’ fitness in the background as they compete. This is done to ensure that users don’t have to actively remember to track all the time.

Q3. Tell us some important features of SSG.

Some of the important features of StepSetGo include social activity tracking, personalised fitness journeys, rewards to movement, social fitness leaderboards, tracking multiple types of fitness activity, water drinking tracking, sleep tracking and wearable integration.

Q4. Please tell readers about fee structure, if there is any?

There is no free structure. The app is free to use.

StepSetGo ahead of Aarogya Setu in user engagement

In user engagement, StepSetGo has managed to cross Aarogya Setu and when compared to other apps on the Indian Play Store, SSG’s domination is not just limited to the Indian fitness apps. Even in comparison with international fitness apps that have more than 50 Million downloads worldwide; SSG still boasts the highest daily active users, monthly active users and daily session per user, before and during the lockdown. They also entered the top 50 free apps in the Indian ‘all’ category in September 2020 and were ranked #2 in the health and fitness category in India. If the StepSetGo User Base were a city, it would be the third most populous after Mumbai and Delhi. Join the fitness tribe, and take that first step towards your fitness goals to keep your resolutions on track.
