Rotary Club Of Delhi Safdarjung Organised A 2 Day Free Health Checkup And TB Detection Camp

The Rotary Club of Delhi Safdarjung organised a 2 Day Free Health Checkup and TB Detection Camp on 18 th and 19 th September 2021 from 10 am to 4 pm, at Mahila Pratiraksha Mandal, Andrews Ganj, Indira Camp Road

The Rotary Club of Delhi Safdarjung organised a 2 Day Free Health Checkup and TB Detection Camp on 18 th and 19 th September 2021 from 10 am to 4 pm, at Mahila Pratiraksha Mandal, Andrews Ganj, Indira Camp Road, New Delhi with the support of Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Sarvodaya Cancer Hospital.

The follow-up consultation with the distribution of medicines was held on Tuesday, 21st September from 11 am – 1 pm. at the same centre.

The Guest of honour was Mr. Abhishek Dutt , the  Municipal Councillor  of Andrews Ganj. He confirmed his support to the Club President Natasha Chopra, for the community service projects in this area.

The TB Detection Van was donated to National Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, (NITBRD) Mehrauli, by Rotary club of Delhi Safdarjung & Rotary club of Delhi Ridge in association with other clubs of RI Distt. 3011 and The Rotary Foundation under a Global Grant Project of the Rotary International. A special thanks to District Chair (TB Awareness Committee) Rtn. Dr. Kusum Chopra for her tremendous efforts and Co-chair Rtn. Asha Sharma in arranging the TB Detection Van at the Venue.  The team of TB Detection Camp was led by Dr Khalid Umer Khayyam, assisted by Kumari-Lab.technician, Mukesh Kumar-Radiographer, Ashish Kumar-Asst.Radiographer and a driver Shyam Sunder. They conducted Approx 30 chest X Rays and 7 sputum tests for TB.

The facility of having A general health checkup was welcomed by the local residents resulting in significant numbers which were well managed for Covid guidelines

A special thanks to Rtn Shobha Tully, President of “Federation of Indian Thalassemics” who was instrumental in the arrangements for eminent doctors namely Dr. Faran Naim, Dr. Ankit Kumar and Dr. Shamin Khan and their supportive lab officials from Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Sarvodya Hospital. They took around 201 blood tests for CBC, Diabetes, thyroid and around 96 ECG tests were performed.

Around 250 people belonging to low-income groups, residing in Andrews Ganj benefitted from this Checkup Camp.  RCDS is committed in conducting more community health service projects, by holding similar Camps including Eye Checkup Camp and Mamography in the near future for the Underprivileged
