#InternationalWomensDay: Journey From Dentistry To Photography: Know How Dr Namrata Rupani Followed Her Passion

It is said an optimistic finds an opportunity in every situation and Dr. Namrata is one of the best examples of this

Dentistry and photography are passions that are miles apart. Dr. Namrata Motihar Rupani is among very few people who have managed to balance both things perfectly. She is currently carrying on as a dentist by profession and nurturing her passion as a photographer.

It is said an optimistic finds an opportunity in every situation and Dr. Namrata is one of the best examples of this. She is a successful professional and has taken the camera as a hobby first in the year 2003 when she was off dentistry for a brief period due to some health issues. She never looked back since then.

Dr. Namrata says, “I am a self-taught photographer, I found some very good online photography websites that helped me learn and understand photography. I have the zeal for learning so it took me three years to just learn the basics of photography”

“My journey of photography started by chance and I always say this that I can’t take credit for it as I was taking a break from clinical work and that was the time when I thought that this is the time, I need to pick up a hobby in life and that’s when I got my first camera. been 13- 14 years now,” she added.

She has also documented the construction of the Hyderabad Metro Rail as a moment of history and was hired to capture the construction of multiple metro stations. She now has enough frames to hold an exhibition on the same, which she did recently at the Marriott.

Dr. Namrata has been featured by Fearless Photographers India, a forum that highlights the work of the best wedding photographers from across the world. She has already shot over 100 weddings, including tennis star Saina Nehwal’s wedding apart from several other international projects in Malaysia and Bahrain.
