Assured that they would not be heard at any other place, thousands of doctors have now written a letter to President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the letter, they highlighted the fact that National Medical Council (NMC) is adamant about not postponing NEET PG 2022 exam despite the fact that they will literally have no time to prepare for it. These doctors said that if exams are held as scheduled, on May 21, they have no choice but to surrender their prestigious medical degrees to the Government of India at Rastrapathi Bhavan.
“We’re reaching out to you because there’s no one else to listen to our voice’s sir. If the exam happens on May 21, then we 1000 of doctors have no choice but to surrender our prestigious medical degrees to Government of India at Rastrapathi Bhavan , out of disappointment, mental agony and because of the innumerable loopholes in the examination and counselling procedures by the NBE and NMC. This is already creating a mental harassment in our mind which is forcing us to take fatal steps seeing at the cost of our drowning careers,” the letter reads.
Doctors highlighted the fact that they had tried their best and approached all higher authorities – NMC and NBE (National Board of Examination), but in vain. Doctors also said that because of their studies, they are not in a position to fight in court every month.
Doctors said that they choose this profession to serve they country and people, but little did they know that they will be harassed by exam bodies like this.
“There is no one showing empathy or compassion for the covid warriors in the time of urgency. We are being continuously harassed mentally by NMC (National Medical Council ) and NBE (National Board of Examination) because of their mismanagement. We are not at fault at any of time but because of the chaotic bodies like NMC and NBE, we are facing all these consequences.”
“Now whatever happens to our lives, any danger because of any extremely decisions out of depression and helplessness, the sole responsibility should be taken by the NMC Chairman Dr.Suresh Chandra Sharma and other officials of NMC, NBE director Dr Minu Bajpai, MCC , Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi ji, Health Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya Ji, and YOU too sir,” the said.
