India’s battle against the COVID-19 pandemic continues to show promising signs as the nation reported a slight dip in daily infections. With 2,487 new cases in the last 24 hours, the total caseload stands at 4,31,21,599. The recent numbers are 13.0% lower than the previous day, reflecting the collective efforts of citizens and authorities in curbing the spread of the virus.

India’s Vaccination Milestone: Over 191.32 Crore Vaccine Doses Administered Nationwide

The nationwide vaccination drive in India has achieved a significant milestone by administering over 191.32 crore (1,91,32,94,864) vaccine doses as of the latest update. Adolescents and Precautionary Doses Receiving Vaccination: A Promising Trend

The vaccination coverage for the age group of 12-14 years began on March 16, 2022, and has successfully reached over 3.17 crore (3,17,42,189) adolescents who have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the administration of precautionary doses for the age group of 18-59 years commenced on April 10, 2022, and has been an encouraging step in strengthening the country’s immunity.

Active Caseload at a Record Low, Recovery Rate Soars to 98.74%

India’s active caseload currently stands at a record low of 17,692, constituting only 0.04% of the total positive cases in the country. This reduction in active cases is accompanied by an impressive recovery rate of 98.74%, with 2,878 patients recovering in the past 24 hours. The cumulative tally of recovered patients now stands at an encouraging 4,25,79,693 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Rigorous Testing Continues: Over 84.38 Crore COVID-19 Tests Conducted

In an ongoing effort to monitor and control the spread of the virus, India has conducted a total of over 84.38 crore (84,38,36,914) COVID-19 tests. In the last 24 hours alone, 4,05,156 tests were conducted, helping authorities to identify and isolate positive cases promptly.

India’s Weekly Positivity Rate currently stands at an encouraging 0.62%, indicating a steady decline in the spread of the virus. The Daily Positivity Rate is reported to be 0.61%, reaffirming the country’s continued efforts to combat the pandemic.
