Healthcare delivery on wheels is becoming popular theses days. This is mainly because it provides hassle-free facilities. One such facility is ‘Health on Wheels’ by Healthians. According to Deepak Sahni, Founder & CEO, Healthians, Health on Wheels is a safe, hygienic and one-of-a-kind experience to get health tests done, anytime, anywhere. It is an extension to our overall theme of Aap Jahan Test Wahan, and eliminates barriers of serviceability due to remoteness of any geographic location. HealthWire spoke to Sahni and tried to understand the concept behind Health on Wheels. Here are excerpts.

1. What is Health on Wheels and on what concept does it work?

Health on Wheels is a new revolutionary and path breaking concept that aims at bringing good quality diagnostic services at the doorsteps of the masses who don’t have access to it due to various reasons. By delivering the diagnostic services right to people’s doorsteps, often without pre-booking and with the convenience of walk-in facility, many segments of people who are generally busy and pressed for time and motivation to travel to traditional collection centres, will benefit hugely from this initiative. Studies indicate that people appreciate the convenient neighborhood locations for diagnostic tests and the Health on Wheels concept can be inside residential colonies to offer the utmost convenience to walk-in customers for any type of blood test.

Our objective is to provide this walk-in diagnostic services to corporates, RWAs, societies, commercial buildings, and malls through this initiative and even take this to the remotest parts of the country in the years to come.

2. What all facilities will be available under Health on wheels?

Health on Wheels would be offering facilities for getting any type of diagnostic blood test done that is either prescribed by doctors or it could be any preventive full body health checkup that encourages healthy living. Anyone who walks-in to get tested will also be offered a free BMI analysis and BP test. With time more such additional services will be added to the overall experience.

3. What are the points that are kept in mind to make sure that people get the best service?

With a service like Health on Wheels the intent is to reach out to people and make diagnostic services more easily accessible to them. This in turn creates a feeling amongst the consumers that the brand is reaching out to care about them, inspiring them to take more charge of their own health. Another factor that will drive the amazing experience for patients and consumers is the ambience of the sample collection area of the vehicle intimate and more welcoming. So instead of keeping the interiors clinic-like we have consciously made the décor luxurious and non-intimidating so that people can experience lounge like ambience while taking the health tests. And one of the most important factors for a superior experience would be getting tested with least waiting times and a pain-free sample collection experience, both facilitated by highly qualified phlebotomists and support staff on the vehicle. Not to mention the utmost level of hygiene and safety that will be ensured through continuous sanitisation of the vehicle.

4. Please share some details about how Health on Wheels plans to expand in near future.

We plan to run the current Health on Wheels as a pilot project in Delhi NCR and would take learnings from the initial few months of implementation. The intent is to replicate the model across all the 4 metros in India and service the geographic locations in and around those metros.

As we take this to places our vision is to not only serve urban India but take this to upcountry areas, smaller towns & interiors of rural India to make quality diagnostic services accessible to the masses.
