
A 45-year-old woman, who had tested positive for coronavirus on May 1 this year, was finally discharged from a medical facility in Gujarat’s Dahod city, after 202 days of hospitalisation, informed her family members on Saturday.
Geeta Dharmik, whose husband is a railway employee at Dahod, had tested positive for the COVID-19 during the second wave of the pandemic on her return from Bhopal, said the officials.
Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya also saluted the fighting spirit of the women by sharing a tweet saying, “Dr A big salute to the fighting spirit, resilience & courage of Geeta Dharmik of Gujarat. She defeated #COVID19 after 202 days in hospital and returned home victorious ✌🏻Clapping hands sign. She will inspire others to stay strong during the pandemic.”

She had to be hospitalised for a total of 202 days before the doctors at Dahod railway hospital decided to discharge her after her recovery, they said.
