New Delhi, Janauary 9-Fire broke out in the basement of the seven-storyed ESIC Hospital, situated in Sector 24, Noida this morning severely affecting the daily healthcare routine and jeopardising the life of patients.
Visuals of smoke billowing from the hospital building were shared on social media by eye-witnesses standing outside the hospital. Doctors, nurses and a few patients can also been seen taking refuge in the cold, open ground outside the hospital and trying to reach for help.
Many patients are still believed to be trapped inside the hospital. Fire brigage services have reach the hospital and are trying to douse the fire.
The fire has left the people questioning huge claims of adherence to the standards of fail-safe systems by big hospitalz. It has not been confirmed yet whether the fire broke out due to some negligence or a technical fault.
Such incidences can take shape of huge tragedies and yet hospitals in the past too have often been found lacking in their preparation to deal with such emergencies.
