Our body weight is determined by the amount of energy that we take in as food and the amount of energy we spend in the activities of our day. Metabolism is the sum of all chemical processes within the body that sustain life.
Your basal metabolic rate is the number of calories (amount of energy) you need for your body to carry out necessary functions. If your weight remains constant it is likely a sign that you are taking in the same amount of calories that you burn daily.

Most Women complain that even after eating homemade food they are not able to reduce weight. What are the things they should include in their diet? Can you suggest an appropriate diet plan which will help achieve an appropriate diet plan?
Dr. Sukeshini explained, “There are so many reasons why someone starts putting on weight. Over eating is one such reason. In this his, apprpriate diet plan can really help. However, obesity in women can also be caused by the menstrual cycle or can be due to slowing down of metabolism. Disturbed mental health like depression or anxiety can also cause obesity. In such cases, physical activities and routines can be helpful. Hence, for weight loss, one must look for the root cause of the problem.”
“Apart from that, a person must have a balanced diet. One should start the day with lukewarm water and then start with a healthy breakfast including some fruits or raw food like sprouts or have a protein in the diet as it can help to increase your metabolism. You can also have buttermilk before a meal. It will help to reduce the appetite so that you consume a less amount of food and these small things in the routine helps a lot in losing weight,” said Dr. Ramteke.
There are many weight-reducing products available in the market. How safe they are?
Dr. Ramteke said, “If a person wants to lose weight for a limited period of time then it is okay. But I personally would not suggest any market-based product like capsules or supplements. Losing weight naturally is always good as instant results do not sustain for a longer time.”
Women are more vulnerable to thyroid than man, and thyroid problems ultimately impact weight and metabolism. So what are diet suggestions for them?
