Your scalp has sebaceous glands that secrete oil and over 100,000 hair follicles. While the hair coming out of those follicles is clinically dead, the bud in the strand is very much alive and influenced by the status of your scalp. Hair follicles that have been weakened and damaged by dry scalp might break, develop slowly, or even lose hair. This causes itching and flaking in the brief term.

  • Exfoliate Weekly

  1. Hot Showers– Do not scratch the scalp and wash your hair with hot water since it can remove the natural oils from your scalp, leaving it dry and sensitive.

2.Organic Products- Seek hair care products with hydrating and protecting elements like aloe vera, honey, bhringraj, olive oil, coconut oil, and others that make the hair smooth and shiny. A decent herbal conditioner is advised to soothe the scalp and hydrate the hair.

  1. Heating Appliances- Put down the styling tools like hairdryer or straighteners and give your scalp a break from all that heat a couple of days a week as the heat will make your scalp drier.
  2. Usage of shampoo- There is a delicate balance between too much and too little hair washing, affecting scalp health. Shampooing every day can deplete your scalp’s natural oils and throw its pH out of whack, resulting in a dry, itchy scalp. Moreover, it is suggested to wash your hair twice a week. On the other hand, waiting too long, mainly if you use many products, can lead to discomfort and accumulation.
  3. Watch What You Eat- The skin and scalp are kept hydrated by a good supply of Omega- 3 fatty acids. Zinc and vitamin A are also beneficial to your scalp. Zinc aids in the growth and repair of healthy tissues, including hair and nails. Vitamin A in fruits and vegetables helps skin cells work correctly and reduces dryness.
