Coronavirus: Health Ministry To Review Preparedness Measures 

Days after a positive case of novel Coronavirus detected in the national capital, the high-level committee of Health Ministry will review the preparedness measures of deadly virus epidemic on Wednesday at 4 pm. A case of Coronavirus was also detected in Telangana on Monday.

The meeting will be chaired by Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, an official said.Besides the minister, Director of AIIMS, Lady Harding Hospital, Medical Superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital, Principal and Special Health and Family Welfare Secretary of Delhi government will attend the meeting.Besides, chairman of New Delhi Municipal Corporation and Commissioners of three civic bodies, including South Delhi Municipal Corporation, North Delhi Municipal Corporation and East Delhi Municipal Corporation among others will participate in the meeting.

It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reviewed the preparedness on the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus.

“Had an extensive review regarding preparedness on the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. Different ministries & states are working together, from screening people arriving in India to providing prompt medical attention. There is no need to panic. We need to work together, take small yet important measures to ensure self-protection,” Prime Minister said in tweets.As many as 305 travellers from the coronavirus affected countries have been identified and 237 are kept under home isolation in Kerala.Most of the state governments have set up their camp for the passengers coming from virus affected countries.

They are screened and monitored at the camps. The deadly virus epidemic which broke out in China has so far claimed the lives of around 3000 people while the number of confirmed cases climbed to over 80,000, Chinese health officials said.
