
New Delhi: The Resident Doctors Association of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi, has urged the authorities of PGI Chandigarh and AIIMS, Bhatinda, to consider the application of Physically handicapped candidates for the faculty positions as they have reserved seats for it.
In a letter to the two medical colleges and hospitals, the RDA on Wednesday underlined the injustice and discrimination against the Physically handicapped candidates even when they were eligible for the positions.
“This is in regard to advertisement No PGI/RS/2019/007/2910, dated 08.07.2019. We wish to bring to your notice the irregularity and highly injustice criteria for PWD candidates for faculty recruitment. Across India including AIIMS, New Delhi, PWD candidates are eligible for the various departments including surgery and all other clinical branches,” the letter reads,
It further said: “The PWD candidates are also eligible for such openings in various disciplines of PGI Chandigarh, PWD candidates are eligible for the surgical and other clinical branches,” the letter said.
The association demanded the two hospitals to comply with the union ministry norms and do justice with the physically candidates.
“We hear by request you to consider them for faculty post in all the disciplines for which they are eligible in AIIMS and PGI. The same changes can be considered through addendum to the notice,” the association said in the letter.
