
Ahead of International Breastfeeding week, Cloudnine, India’s premium birthing in center in India for the first time in East Delhi – Patparganj region organized a health and wellness screening camp for the super women in uniform – women cops. More than 80 women police personnel participated in the special health check-up, screening and consultation. Ms. Priyanka Kashyap, IPS Officer at East Delhi Police Department was the special guest of honor present at screening camp to cheer her team members.
The camp witnessed team members from Cloudnine Hospital, Patparganj creating awareness on health-related issues, exercising during menstruation – benefits and things to avoid and advocating a healthy lifestyle amongst all police personnel. All the women personnel were offered Fasting Sugar, Thyroid (TSH) & Cholesterol tests at free of cost.
An interactive session on Let’s talk periods and menstrual hygiene was led by Dr Anjali Taneja, senior consultant, obstetrician and gynecologist, Nutrition and Healthy lifestyle by Dimpy Khurana, Executive Nutritionist & lactation related issues was conducted Dr Kavita Singh, Lactation expert and physiotherapist, Cloudnine Group of Hospitals, New Delhi- Patparganj.
Commenting at the sidelines of the screening camp says Dr. Prashant Vashistha, Zonal Head, Cloudnine “India has 10.3% women in police force and policing is a high stress profession involving a lot of physical and mental stress with long working hours and erratic sleep patterns. Women irrespective of any profession are backbones of not just their families but profession too and hence it is of utmost importance to keep herself healthy and healthcare should not slip down the priority list. At Cloudnine, we care for moms and women at large and today’s session was just one step on emphasizing on the need to eat healthy, get the required minimum rest, maintain the right body weight, and exercise regularly –especially for our female police members. We take pride in serving the women cops of East Delhi through our Women Wellness Camp”.
Adding further Dr. Vashistha says “Also important health issues such as anemia, osteoporosis, and depression among many others to be checked for at regular intervals and treated. For this, there is a need for a good health care facility and aid across the country and such camps are one step in this direction”.
Sessions also emphasized on how neglecting your health exposes you to various diseases and risks. And the need to manage stress better by learning to prioritize in advance.
