Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan had tested positive for Covid-19 and were admitted to a city hospital last evening. And now reports suggest that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya have also tested positive for Coronavirus, while Jaya Bachchan has tested negative. More details about the same are awaited, Times of India has reported.

Health Minister Rajesh Tope had confirmed the same on Twitter, “Smt.Aishwarya Rai Bacchan & Daughter Aaradhya Abhishek Bacchan have also been detected positive for Covid19. Smt. Jaya Bachhan ji is tested negative for covid19. We wish the Bacchan Family to get well soon with a speedy recovery.”

As many as 16 staff members of Maharashtra’s Raj Bhavan, official residence of the Governor, in Mumbai have tested positive for coronavirus. Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has gone into precautionary isolation. Some more test results from the residence are expected.
Following Saturday’s development, a Raj Bhavan official also confirmed that Koshyari was likely to also undertake the Covid-19 test five days later as a precautionary measure. Five to six senior officials, including at least a couple of civil servants, who oversee the day-to-day administration of the Governor’s office and are in regular contact with Koshyari, were among the 14 who tested positive for the infection on Saturday, the Indian Express has reported.
Mumbai is one of worst-affected cities in India hit by Covid-19 pandemic. Maharashtra has maximum number of Covid-19 cases and death toll.
Most of the infections have been reported from Maharashtra, which has the highest number of Covid-19 cases in the country with 238,461, followed by Tamil Nadu with 130,261 and Delhi with 109,140.
With 7,862 new cases, Maharashtra on Friday witnessed its highest-ever single-day record in fresh Covid-19 infections, taking the state burden to 2.38 lakh. Mumbai with 1,337 new cases has till now reported 90,461 infections.
