Adani Group Acquires Minority Stake In Robotic Surgery Startup ForSight

The cost of the acquisition is USD 20 million and the Adani Group said that it is "in furtherance of the strategic objectives of the Adani Enterprises Limited to undertake investments which provide synergistic benefits to the existing businesses of the company."

Adani Global Limited – Mauritius has acquired a minor stake in ForSight Robotics – a startup that has launched a robotic surgery platform with the aim of transforming the future of ophthalmic surgery. “Adani Global Limited., Mauritius has completed the acquisition of minority stake by way of newly issued shares of ForSight Robotics Ltd,” the company informed BSE Limited. The cost of the acquisition is USD 20 million and the Adani Group said that it is “in furtherance of the strategic objectives of the Adani Enterprises Limited to undertake investments which provide synergistic benefits to the existing businesses of the company.”

“We are delighted for the opportunity to invest in ForSight, who are transforming the medical landscape with their offering,” said Jeet Adani, vice president, group finance, Adani Group.

It is pertinent to mention that ForSight is developing the first hybrid intraocular robotic ophthalmic platform to advance ophthalmic surgery for a wide range of conditions including Cataract, Glaucoma, and retinal diseases.

The startup is working to assist ophthalmic surgeons in patient treatment for several major conditions and conduct procedures remotely.
